Bottled water seems to be taking over the beverage industry, and you have may have noticed that spas, resorts, and fine dining establishments seem to be finding evermore pricey particles of H2O to quench your thirst. Of course, it’s only natural to find yourself wondering just how high the price on a bottle of the most abundant resource on the planet can actually go. While we may not have any way to actually know this for sure, we can tell you which brands are currently the most expensive.
Bling H2O ($39+)
The most moderately priced water on our list starts off weighing in at a hefty $40 per 750ml bottle. It’s packaged in the United States in Tennessee by the English Mountain Springwater Company. When you see the prices of the other waters on this list, you might be wondering why this brand even made the cut to begin with and rightly so. Rest assured that the $2,700 “Ten Thousand” bottle that is adorned with over ten thousand hand placed Swarovski Crystals firmly cements its place.
This ornamental H2O is sold as Jewelry Water and has to be imported from Japan. The prices start around $180 per 720ml bottle based on current exchange rates but goes up swiftly depending on how ornate of a container you’re actually looking for. The company itself espouses the absurdity of its entire concept and claims to offer the best natural mineral water in the world. It’s bottled in Kobe Japan from wells underneath the Rokko Mountains.
Acqua di Cristallo Tributo a Modigliani ($60,000)
The next priciest water in the world comes in a 24 karat gold bottle designed by Fernando Altamirano that is equal parts art, investment, and libation. It accompanies the designers portfolio of most expensive bottles of cognac, tequila, and perfume in the world.
Beverly Hills 90H20 Diamond Edition ($100,000)
The self proclaimed “most expensive bottle of water in the world” seems to make a strong case for taking the crown of water royalty. The Beverly Hills 90H20 Diamond Edition is sold in a one liter still topped with 14 carats worth of black and white diamonds and comes with a custom-made case with four crystal tumblers and its own presentation ceremony upon delivery. It’s certainly setting the bar pretty high for whatever brave beverage tries to topple its throne. If you have your heart set on obtaining one of these for yourself, it’s worth noting that there are only nine bottles in existence.
